About me

My name is Alvaro

With a strong engineering background, I developed a deep interest in leveraging data to drive impactful decisions.

Currently, I am honing my expertise in Python and the most in-demand Data Science techniques to:

✔ Extract, clean, and structure data from various sources, including files and databases.
✔ Visualize insights effectively, making data more accessible and intuitive.
✔ Perform statistical analysis to uncover hidden patterns and relationships.
✔ Build and deploy Machine Learning models to drive data-driven predictions.

I am eager to apply my skills and experience to dynamic, real-world projects, combining creativity and analytical thinking to generate valuable insights.

Get to know me

As a graduate in Aerospace Engineering, I worked in the aerospace industry for almost three years, contributing to various projects across different locations in Spain. In 2021, I transitioned into order management in Poland, where I have been working for over two years. Now, I am looking for a new challenge in the field of Data Science.

My first exposure to large datasets was in my first job in 2016, when I worked as a Quality Engineer at Airbus in Madrid. One of the most critical stages in the composite manufacturing process was the autoclave—a massive oven applying both temperature and pressure to the parts. My responsibility was to ensure that everything functioned correctly inside the autoclave, analyzing temperature and pressure data collected from dozens of sensors to verify compliance with standards.

In 2017, I moved to Barcelona to pursue my Master's degree, which had a strong practical focus. During this time, I learned to program in MATLAB. Initially, I was hesitant due to a previous negative experience with coding at university, but I quickly realized its potential. I worked on aerodynamic simulations and structural calculations, gradually becoming comfortable with programming logic.

In 2023, I connected my passion for data analysis and programming. After more than two years as an order management specialist, I decided it was time to unlock my full potential, so I began learning Python. By chance, I discovered practicepython.org, where I completed around 40 exercises covering Python fundamentals, data structures, functions, and web scraping. Around the same time, I started my GitHub profile, uploading my solutions and sharing my learning journey.

By the end of summer 2023, I enrolled in a 10-course Data Science specialization from IBM, gaining valuable knowledge in multiple aspects of the discipline. I eventually obtained my certification after completing a final project analyzing SpaceX data and developing a Machine Learning model to predict the success of rocket launches.

Wanting to take my skills further, I joined the HACK A BOSS Data Science & AI Bootcamp, where I deepened my expertise in Python programming, SQL, databases, statistics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Big Data with PySpark, and Agile methodologies for project management.

From a technical perspective, one of the aspects I enjoyed the most was learning how to deploy interactive web applications using Streamlit, allowing me to visualize data and integrate ML models seamlessly. On a personal level, applying my skills to real-world problems alongside my bootcamp colleagues was an invaluable experience. When you collaborate with like-minded people who share your passion for data, great things happen.

I completed the bootcamp in March 2025, developing a Streamlit web app to visualize data from the Spanish Electric Network and building several Neural Network models to predict the country’s energy demand.

Currently, I am continuously enhancing my skills and expanding my knowledge in Data Science and AI. The potential of data-driven decision-making and AI is truly fascinating, and I am eager to contribute to this field.

So, if you’re looking for a dedicated Data Scientist, I might be the perfect fit for your team. Let’s connect!
